This couple just makes me smile. Every time I see their name pop up on my phone or email, pure joy. For this session, it was no different. Art wanted to surprise his beautiful sweetheart, Maddie, with a proposal and he wanted me to capture it all. Me!
I've already done one surprise proposal and Maddie was there, so we were going to have to be extra sneaky. We decided we'd play off that this was a "family session" and really get into taking family photos. As you can see, I was just having a blast with the little one, snapping candid moments and enjoying every second.
We decided to recreate their maternity shot between the huge pine trees, a beautiful and nostalgic touch. Then I'd slyly suggest we do some couples photos. I took a few, keeping the mood light and fun. Then came the moment of truth—I shouted, "Go Art!"
The look on Maddie's face? Priceless. She had no idea. I think I was more nervous than Art! I mean, she was going to say yes, but I had to make sure I captured the moment perfectly.
When it was over, I breathed a sigh of relief. The stress was a bit much for my little heart, but I have to say, I am so happy I've been able to capture this couple through so many wonderful milestones in their life. From maternity shots to family photos, and now this unforgettable proposal, it's been an incredible journey.
