You know the type—a goofball incognito. The kind that can blend in seamlessly, playing the role of the polite, well-mannered individual, all the while hiding a secret stash of jokes and pranks just beneath the surface. They’re the ones who can make you think they’re as straight-laced as they come, but really, they’re just waiting for the perfect moment to drop a punchline. Enter Zachary.

From the moment we started his senior photo session, Zachary was the picture of composure. He smiled—don’t get me wrong, he did a great job of that—but no matter what, he kept his laughter tightly under wraps. And believe me, I tried everything. I pulled out all my best material: the awkward jokes, the silly comments, the kind of stuff that usually gets at least a chuckle or a knowing grin. But Zachary? He held firm, barely a hint of amusement crossing his face. It was like trying to crack a safe—he wasn’t giving up the combination.

It wasn’t until the very end of the session, when we were packing up and getting ready to head out, that Zachary’s mom casually mentioned, “Oh, by the way, he’s a total goofball.” Cue my surprise. Uh, bruh, where was that? All this time, I had been photographing this well-mannered, stoic guy, completely unaware that a clown was lurking beneath the surface, waiting to pop out. It was like discovering that Clark Kent had been Superman all along.

Now, don’t get me wrong—I love a good, low-key senior session. There’s something really special about capturing those quiet, introspective moments. But when you kick it up a notch with some laughs, a few funny anecdotes, and a bit of goofiness, it changes the whole dynamic. It takes the session from simply good to something unforgettable, with photos that capture not just how you look, but who you really are.

Even though Zachary kept his goofball side mostly hidden, he was still a joy to photograph. He brought his own unique energy to the session, and that quiet confidence really came through in the photos. And let’s talk about that red hair for a minute—seriously, Zachary, never change it. It’s iconic, and it added a whole other layer of awesome to the shoot.

We spent the session exploring Miguelito, finding all sorts of creative spots to pose and capture Zachary’s personality, even if he wasn’t giving up the full goofball experience. I’d say we were pretty successful—every shot had that subtle hint of who he really is, even if he wasn’t ready to show all his cards.

So here’s to you, Zachary. Congrats on reaching this huge milestone. Keep being you, whether you’re playing it cool or letting the goofball out to play. You’ve got this, and don’t forget—you were unforgettable, even incognito.
